Cascade Bicycle Club is the nation’s largest statewide bicycle nonprofit, with over 17,000 members. Their mission is to improve lives through bicycling, teaching the joys of bicycling, advocating for safe places to ride, and producing world-class rides and events.
Cascade wanted a refresh on their 25 year old logo. With the growing popularity of cycling and their anticipated move to a new more public facing space it was time for a rebrand.
Cascade is an organization built on the coordination and cooperation of thousands of people. The mark we created was representative of that idea. The chain link in the “C” mark serving as a graphical representation of the Club’s link to the Puget Sound bicycling community.
In addition the to the logo, Kotis works with Cascade each year to create 12 event logos for their annual rides, including their signature Seattle To Portland (STP) bicycle ride, a 200+ mile weekend ride with 10,000 riders. Many riders complete this feat in one day. It’s a joy to spot riders all over the state in jerseys we’ve designed.

From financial companies and real estate agencies to retail stores and charitable foundations, logo design ranks high on my list of favorite projects to work on. I find logo work particularly satisfying because it truly impacts the client and their goals and it’s an amazing feeling to add value in that way. The sheer elation I feel watching them live out in the world is something hard to define.
Kotis is the brand behind the brand, makers of amazing swag and eCommerce solutions meant to amplify the client’s message and connect their people. Each project is tackled with unbridled enthusiasm, with the goal of making clients’ lives easier. Quarterly marketing initiatives as well as our famous holiday kits were first created as sketched out themes on post-its and whiteboards and then refined and creatively packaged and shipped to clients new and old. My role in these projects included many titles ranging from Art Director and Copywriter to Designer, Illustrator and Photographer.

A series of designs I created while working through the early pandemic shutdown.
Day by Day it will be Okay. As the mid March 2020 shutdowns began to spread I would recite this to myself and it would help calm any anxiety I felt building inside me. March was the first time I'd experienced the sadness of having to layoff members of my design team and the uncertainty of what the future could hold for additional team members and myself. "Day by day it will be okay," repeated over and over had an amazing effect on me.
Spread Kindness Not Germs. With all the external messaging about handwashing during the Covid Pandemic, soap suds were on my mind. I'm a huge believer in spreading kindness whenever possible and with all the talk of spreading germs as well as the "me first" attitude of many in the early days of the pandemic, it seemed appropriate to create a message that addressed both.
Hug Yourself. Sometimes you just need a hug. With social distancing that became more of a challenge. Next best solution. Wrap those arms around yourself and squeeze.
Keep On Keeping On. With so much uncertainty during the pandemic it would be easy to just give up, to stop, to pull the covers over our head.... or we could keep going, keep progressing, keep growing.
Embrace the new. Embrace the now. Embrace the new, now. Let's adapt, let's grow, let's make something better than it was before because we are in a different place now. We're never going back and it's because there are so many good things ahead. Keep smiling, keep going.
Washington Bikes grows bicycling all across the state of Washington advocating for bicyclists’ rights, endorsing political candidates, and shaping the policies that will make bicycling a safe, accessible form of transportation, travel and recreation.
Through the work created with Cascade Bicycle Club, Washington Bikes reached out seeking a refresh of their logo. They wanted to keep the bicycle shape of the previous mark but wanted a more modern less whimsical take on the logo that would work cohesively when grouped next to the Cascade Bicycle Club logo.

Ranked amongst the most popular Christian bands of all time, Skillet has released ten albums, with two receiving Grammy nominations. Their music is a mix of rock, metal and alternative which appeals to their broad fan base.
Working closely with the band and their management team we created custom merch for each of their tours as well as products for their online store, creating a significant revenue stream for the band, selling hundreds of thousands of garments alone. The monster character we designed becoming especially popular with fans. He’s been turned into plush toys and even a birthday cake. In addition to merchandise we created graphics for their social media posts and a t-shirt of the week campaign that successfully ran for several months. I led the design team as Art Director while also contributing as a Designer and Illustrator.

H&H Paper Company was created by a mom who felt that new mothers could use more moral support postpartum. She came up with the idea for New Mom Letters as a way to inspire and encourage new moms as they go through their earliest stage of motherhood. The cards use handwritten words combined with the thrill of unexpected mail to connect new mothers with friends, family and even anonymous supporters.
The scope of the project included branding, marketing materials, packaging and print design. The client was interested in more of an iconic monogram look for the brand and something that would work quite small on packaging and cards. We explored hardlines as well as softer more hand drawn looks. The final mark chosen was a customized monoline script lockup paired with a rounded san serif to complement the curves of the monogram.
The mission of the Armory is to bring clients to their fitness goals as quickly and safely as possible while also keeping them active, strong, and without sickness while aging. The overall goal being to help them move better and play longer.
The client provided a rough vision for their brand, including the font and roughed bomb icon. My role was to take these elements and refine them to make a more cohesive brand with assets that could be applied to a multitude of materials, from marketing pieces and apparel to signage and gym equipment.
Road Dogs & Rescue invited me to illustrate supporters’ pets as a gift with donation. I had creative freedom to illustrate the dogs (& cat ) and loved being able to create work for these amazing pet parents.
Road dogs primary mission is to rescue and rehab medical bulldogs and puppies with birth defects, and spread the message of love and compassion towards all animals – both locally and internationally. As a bulldog mom this a charity I’m proud to support.
